hi little anita!
yesterday at no frillz they were playing camera obscura. that was awesome.
my english teacher in grade seven liked to put people into groups based on how ‘smart’ they were. in grade freakin’ seven. he wore this orange sweater. i remember we had to do literature circles and he put us into groups of five and assigned books based on how well he thought we could read. so all the ‘smart’ kids would be in one group. i had to read walk two moons. there was some quote about never judging someone unless you walked two moons in their moccasins. i never got the moccasins part. or the two moons part. just the walking part i think. good timez yo. at lunch he would let some girls stay inside during recess while the rest of us were stuck in the cold. they’d put their feet on his desk and he would talk to them. i think once he called someone fat. he told me i need to work on how i spoke. there was this one girl he loved in particular. i think he ‘converted’ to hinduism in hopes of wooing her. we had this stupid speech competition and he would always say ‘BE LIKE (name of girl he wanted to woo)’ or SPEAK LIKE _____. i remember writing that down in my notebook…and then wondering why. i think he used to be in the military. that was the year i moved to canada. it was so strange. he was horrible.
